Funding Opportunities
Small Commissions Programme
*Please note that our Small Commissions Programme is currently closed. For our latest community commissions, click here.*
The Small Commissions Programme supports artists and community organizations in developing their own great art projects in Peterborough. It provides up to £2000 of funding to arts projects that:
- Involve people who don’t regularly attend arts events, either as audience or participants
- Enable artists and communities to work together
- Raise the profile of the arts in Peterborough
The Small Commissions Programme has previously funded projects such as:
- Utterly Butterly Ukulele project: Family workshops in which participants get to make and play their own ukulele
- A pint of contemporary dance: Pop up dance performances in pubs and bars
- Confessions: a travelling wooden box in which members of the public could confess their secrets
- On the Outskirts: a series of photography walks alongside the outskirts of the city
- Pedal Power Car Chase: a travelling cycle cinema
We are particularly interested in funding projects that could form part of our Peterborough Presents Festival tour for 2017. In July – August next year we will be visiting four parts of the city and working with local residents to create a mini arts festival weekend in their area. Residents will programme their own festival by selecting from a menu of potential activities. Therefore we are interested in projects that could feature on the menu, in particular:
- Participatory activities that could take place in the run up to the festival
- Projects that create new performances, workshops, installations and/or exhibitions
- Activities that tell local stories and celebrate Peterborough and it’s communities
- Activities that are family friendly and inclusive
