The Sleep Taker
Join Darren as he and his ‘Touring Troup’ bring the first four chapters of this wonderful children’s supernatural adventure book to life at Chauffeurs Cottage. There will also be a chance to get crafty with the Clare Cottage team, who will be running craft sessions based on themes from The Sleep Taker. Darren O’Sullivan is an active supporter of the Make- A-Wish Foundation® UK. There are more than 20,000 children in the UK living with life- threatening conditions. This year they are hoping to grant over 1,100 wishes and they will need to raise £7 million. Darren will be donating profits from his book sales of The Sleep Taker.
The summer holidays have just begun and Jack is lying awake planning his summer and all of the games he will play with his friends. However just as Jack is beginning to drift off to sleep he is disturbed by an unfamiliar sound, a slow, scraping sound and when he looks out of his bedroom window he sees something on the street …..The Sleep Taker!
Jack, with his friends must now go on a three day adventure involving brainwashed parents, fortress building at death defying heights, prison escapes and a flying dog to save the summer holidays for children everywhere, and all without any sleep! But, will they defeat The Sleep Taker before they are all so tired they give up? The Sleep Taker is the first book in the series, The Adventures of Horse Shoe Close. The second book in the series will be out early 2014.
