Freak Speak Poetry Night: Artist Call-Out
This is a fabulous opportunity for any emerging artist working with words.
Freak Speak is Peterborough’s new spoken word night, back for a full season – bringing you the best kind of punch-you-in-the-gut poetry from across the country. Cheap booze, loud voices, and outlandish words – the fundamental components of raw human existence. Friday 13th May, at Radius, from 7:30pm. Featuring three nationally-revered spoken word legends, Joelle Taylor, Inua Ellams, Talia Randall, and supporting them will be… you?
Freak Speak are offering two lucky poets/poetry acts the opportunity to be paid to perform a 10 minute supporting slot. This opportunity is not just open to those who solely identify as a poet; we welcome applications from all disciplines, so long as they incorporate the spoken word into their performance.
The successful applicants will receive £30, plus 10 tickets to sell (retailing at £6), for which they will receive a £3 commission per ticket sold. Sound good? No, you’re right, it sounds great. To apply, simply fill out the attached form and return it to [email protected] by Friday 8th April.
