Artists To Work With Circuit Group
Wysing Arts Centre and Kettle’s Yard are working together on Circuit, a new four- year project connecting 15-25 year olds to the arts in galleries and museums working in partnership with the youth and cultural sector. Led by Tate and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, it provides opportunities for young people to steer their own learning and create cultural activity across art disciplines.
Wysing and Kettle’s Yard have funding to support a group of young people to develop a programme of workshops, commissions and events that encourage other young people to get involved in the arts. Through Circuit, we are enabling young people to take a leading role in cultural development and creating long-term creative relationships with areas of least cultural engagement.
Wysing’s current Circuit peer-led group are looking for an experienced artist to collaborate with, to support and guide them creatively over an initial four months (spring 2014) as they develop and deliver a series of social and cultural public events and activity in the town of Cambourne (a new town about 10 miles outside Cambridge and close to Wysing Arts Centre). These events are specifically aimed at engaging other young people in the town.
